In our consultations, we often notice that customers are uncertain about how best to clean high-quality lambskin.
So that you and your child can enjoy the warm fur for a long time to come, we would like to give you some valuable tips on how to properly care for and clean your Naturkind products. The natural material fur is generally very easy to care for and if you pay attention to a few points, it will be your long-term companion.
Why lambskin?
Before we get into the care instructions, we would like to remind you why lambskin is so special. Not only is it incredibly soft and comfortable for your baby, but it also regulates temperature, is breathable and hypoallergenic. Our lambskin products offer comfort and safety, which is why caring for them is particularly important. Here we have summarized all the advantages of lambskin for you.
1. Regular airing and shaking
The best way to care for lambskin is prevention. Since real lambskin has a self-cleaning ability, it is advisable not to wash the fur too often, but to air it out in the fresh air every now and then. This will refresh the fur's dirt-repellent and disinfecting properties. Shake out your lambskin products regularly to remove dust and dirt. This will prevent impurities from settling deep in the fibers. You can also use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to suck up the last particles.
“Proper care ensures the longevity of the products and the well-being of your baby.”
2. Remove stains by gently dabbing
If your lambskin has stains, treat them as soon as possible. Use lukewarm water and mild soap or a special lambskin shampoo (like ours 😉 ). Dab the stain carefully instead of rubbing to protect the material. Then let it dry thoroughly, but avoid direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight.
3. Machine wash with fur detergent
Our lambskin products can be machine washed. However, always pay attention to the label and the individual care instructions. Use a special lambskin detergent and select the gentle program at a low temperature. Avoid fabric softener and bleach.
4. Hand wash
Of course, you can also wash the lambskin products by hand. Fill a tub with lukewarm water and lambskin detergent and carefully immerse the product. Do not wring or rub. Then rinse well and gently squeeze to remove excess water.
5. Drying in the tumble dryer possible
Never let your lambskin products dry in direct sunlight or near heaters. Lay them flat on a towel and let them dry in a well-ventilated place. You should keep kneading and pulling them into shape so that the leather does not become hard. A tumble dryer is also a good option for drying. Use the gentle cycle (up to 30° C). The advantage is that the fur automatically keeps moving. Make sure that your lambskin products are completely dry before you use them again.
6. Brushing as care
After drying, you can gently brush the lambskin with a lambskin brush or comb to loosen the fibers and restore the fluffy texture.
Proper care and cleaning of your Naturkind lambskin products not only ensures their longevity, but also the health and well-being of your child. We hope that these tips will help you care for your products and that your children can continue to enjoy the highest level of comfort.
